justin_tx_16
Ok, I have a 46" Mitsubitsi HDTV (i can never spell mitsubitsi right, so forgive me ) and now i want another one for another room, but bigger. $2499 will get me a Mitsu. HDTV 55" Platinum Series TV $2499 will get me a SONY HDTV 51" TV Which to get? The SONY is higher up in the air so viewing it will be easier in the room i am in (only like 2 inches taller) and has a far advanced PIP. But the Mitsu. has history and upgradability... So, if you had a choice... which would you get? Both come with free same day installation and I have cash to buy both so the financing program means nothing to me. It is hard to tell picture quality difference, they both look great... WHAT DO I DO LOL! ------------------ -justin SoundWise Tech Support I am an amateur, if it is professional; ProMedia help you want email Amy or call her @ 1-888-554-5665 or for an RA# 800-554-7724 ext 5 Klipsch Home Audio help you want, email support@klipsch.com or call @ 1-800-KLIPSCH RA# Fax Number=317-860-9140 / Parts Department Fax Number=317-860-9150s>

aab3rd
Justin, Check out this month's Home Theater magazine for a big screen RPTV shootout. All are 16X9 and either HD ready or have HD tuners in them.

dearlv
I have sold both for years. get the Mitsubishi. Picture on both is good, but the Mits is more likely to last longer and guarantees upgradeability. Sony sometimes rides on its well known name. Actually, I will be getting the 46" Mitsmyself in about a month.

Jobman
I just bought the 55 Mitsu Platinum Plus 3 weeks ago. Nice picture, so far, so good. I like the fact it will be upgradable in the future. Mike

HornEd
Justin, congrats on the Mitsu HDTV, I've had a 65" with no problems for over a year. The HDTV part doesn't get much play on broadcast TV... but it allows you to have maximum picture quality out of a your DVD's with a full bore progressive scanner like my old reliable Toshiba 6200... which also does HDCD's. Most TV is interlaced, half the lines are sent one instant and the other half the next instant relying on persistence of vision to make it clear... if a bit jittery. Your new Mitsu will probably accept a 480p component video signal... which squeezes both 480i (interlaced) images into a single, stunningly smooth 480p (progressive) picture. Enjoy! We also have digital cable so I will actually get to enjoy about 8 HDTV channels, all of our local channels except two are HDTV. Ray Garrison
You only spent $2500 with them. Can't imagine why you'd expect them to bother with little details like ORDERING THE DAMN THING. BBB
Very smart move Justin and a very nice MITS! I think you will be pleased. There are alot of tweaks you can do to that set.Try the Home Theater Spot.I've use many of the suggestions there to enhance the picture on my 55807. These are awesome machines when tuned and especially with your audio set up you'll have a great home theater happening.Congrats and Good Luck my friend.
