(Originals included) New Crites Tweeters (Originals included) Finish is clean and black speaker fabric has no tears or snags. You can read reviews and specs online. (But you already know them) If you are looking at these, you know what you want! Hard to find a pair of Belles in this condition for this price. (Check and see what you get for $2K) Cannot ship, but can assist with local delivery or loading. 125# each Thanks for looking.
  2. If you were to consider just selling them, what would be the price? Thanks jobman
  3. Thank you all for the replies. Issue solved. (and no hammers needed - LOL)
  4. How do I get the backs off my KG 5.2's? Do they even come off? My '85 Cornwall backs just unscrew. THanks
  5. Lurking lately, but will always be here.
  6. I had Craig clean up my 500c a few years ago. He did a great job. It is excellent and now in daily use. I have a 300b and a Monarchy SM70 as amps also, but I just love the sound of the 500c overall. I alternate driving my RB5's or the Silverline Sonata 2's. (The RB5's give the Sonata's a good run for the money. Just not as deep in the bass) I would not sell the 500c. I know the value has gone up considerably since I bought mine, but when a component works and you are happy with it, why change? (and this from a guy who shuffled gear in & out like a mover)
  7. I have been using a Rega Planer 3 for the last 5 years,. I bought it from another forum user. I upgraded most everything but the RB300 arm. Wonderful table, and with the upgrades, it would take a $1500 table to beat it. That is one of the good things about it. It is solid on it's own, but can be modified easily to be a high end, budget table.
  8. http://sacramento.craigslist.org/ele/2201105997.html Not affiliated with this person, just some cool items listed, including teh VERY old K-horn. (original???)
  9. Kind of late to the party, but I concur with other Duet owners. I have had mine for 2 years. It runs through my CIA DAC, then into the preamp. Not a whole lot of difference in the audio quality, as the Duet is very good, but enough of a difference in my main system for me to keep the DAC. Convenience is great, programming my own radio station is cool, and just playing any song or album I have on the spur is awesome. Regards Mike - now in Cameron Park
  10. Yep, Craing was my next step. Couldn't hurt to have him check everything anyway. jobman
  11. The fuse on my 500c blew. I think with the recent heat, the reciever just got to warm, even though it is in a well ventilated space. I replaced the fuse, and power is on, but no output to the speakers. I tried a different pair of speakers, no sound. I tried headphones, no sound. Is there another fuse I am just not finding, or did I also blow an output tube? Thanks in Advance Jobman2000 Mike in Vallejo, CA.
  12. I use the PW8R15AUD 15 Amp, 8 Isolated Receptacle unit for all my misc. components and HT system. I use the PW2RAUD 2 Receptacle unit for my 2 channel system with my Silverline 300b and my MF CD player. They have been the best I have used so far. No noise, no reduction in sound quality, no softening or veiling of the music. I tried several from Monster and one from PS (I forget which), but these are so far the best, especially for the price. I also have the 2 outlet unit plugged into a dedicated 20amp circuit that uses a PS port outlet. I have been very happy so far. I am sure that there are better out there, but at a much higher price. Jobman
  13. I just installed the exact same Dish reciever on Sunday. I used the Toslink to my Marantz 8400, reassigned the input in the setup menu of the Marantz and I have great 5.1. I am amazed at all the programming that SHOULD be 5.1, but is only in stereo. Especially music programs. Jobman
  14. If you can't get the Espressimo weight, may I make a suggestion? I have the Gooovetracer counterweight on my Rega P3 and RB300 arm, and it is awesome. (Thanks again for selling me the table Jazman!) Link: http://www.groovetracer.com/ The owner, Frank, is the kind of guy you can just pick up the phone and talk to about your setup and what you want to do. He even has a P3 in his lobby/office. His quality is top notch. I also have modified my P3 with his acrylic platter and subplatter. I was originally looking at a variety of products to make these changes, but Franks quality and service led me to try him instead. I know this sounds like I might be the marketing guy for Groovetracer, but I am just a happy and satisfied customer who does not have a problem recommending a good product I have experience with. I have pretty much gone about as far with this Rega as I can. (Other than adding a VTF adjustment) I upgraded the wiring and put on a Shelter 501. From everything else I have heard, it would take maybe over $3k to buy better performance than I have. Best of luck in your pursuit. It is a FUN hobby! Jobman
  15. I have actually taked to him, although I was not able to have him come out to my house or listen to his amps. He is VERY customer service oriented, and wants to make sure you get an amp that suits your room, your musical tastes and your ears. He offered on 2 occasions to come to my house to let me demo equipment. He is good at follow up and seems very sincere. I have recently purchased another 300b amp, so I will not be listening to his, but if I needed another one, I would certainly call him. Jobman
  16. I am in the proces of upgrading my Rega P3 by rewiring the tonearm and putting the Shelter 501 on. I did all the reading also, and for me, it came down to the Shelter or a ZYX YATRA. Both around the same price to me. (The Yatra list for much more). I have already upgraded the the table by adding a new sub platter, acrylic platter and counterbalance, all from the GrooveTracer line by Promac. Local guy who does great quality work. Anyway, a lot of upgrades for a Rega P3, but I think it will take the table to another level where to get better performance, I would have to spend $2500 or more just for the table. I'll report what the upgradeshave done when I get the P3 back Thursday. Jobman
  17. Chris: I don't have Sirius, but I have XM in my 2 cars and at home. I only use it for background music at home, not for serious (pun intended) listening. I also run it through my DAC. At home, I am just using an older, small SONY unit. I really like the Satellite radio, as I travel and drive quite a bit and never lose the station. I know POLK makes a standalone unit, and many new home receivers are now building it in. I bet the quality of sound would be a step up from what I have. It will never be as good as CD or LP though, and some say it is worse than FM. For ALMOST no commerials and uniterrupted listening, I can live with that, especially in the car. jobman
  18. Great point about getting a new one for just $100 more, but perhaps at $100 less than new, it may be a bit easier admission into a great little tubed preamp for someone. My bad on the pictures, I took them out. jobman
  19. I wanted to offer this to my Klipsch compadres here before selling on AudiogoN. I have a Juicy Music Merlin that I bought 3 weeks ago from the original owner in Washington. I REALLY like this little preamp, but I need more inputs, and I do not want to use splitters. I love the volume controls!!! A Peach will be in my future very soon! The Merlin looks absolutely new, (it pretty much is), and has the original tubes. Works just as everyone says it does. I can email pictures of the actual unit, with all original packing and materials. More pictures and the info at http://www.juicymusicaudio.com/merlin.html $495 + $10 insured shipping - PayPal preferred jobman@pacbell.net Jobman
  20. I really like the SE-100's. I had a pair of the SM-70's and I was running them in Balanced mode, hence using the higher power available. They were great, but then I started getting the tubes bug, so I sold them for a Wright 2A3 and I was on my way. I did regret selling them, until I bought the SE-100, and I have been happy ever since. I think it would take and amp (or amps) upwards of $4-5000 to get a better sound in my system at this point. (not that I am ever going to give up searching) Jobman
  21. Have currently have a pair of Monarchy SE-100 Delux monoblocks. I also have used the SM-70's, and I think they are great amps. Very well balanced, smooth, and from my experience, no lack of bass. I have used other amps, from 2A3 to 300b to monster power 300wpc SS units, and I still come back to these Monarchys. (Especially for the $$$$) However, as many of us are wont to do, I still try and search for the grail and keep trying new amps. I just will not sell the Monarchys until I am sure I have reached a higher level. Jobman PS: I will say that the pure class A eats up the PG&E bill.
  22. Hi: I just replaced a Denon AVR-5700 with the Marantz SR-8400. Some may call me crazy, but I like the Marantz better overall. Much more dynamic for HT. I like the Denon for 5 channel stereo better, but I have the Marantz almost tweaked to sound the same now. I am only using 5.1, but there was just no comparison when watching a DVD. Even though it was a pain, I did compare the 2 in my house, but hooking and unhooking all those wire is not something you want to do every day! For the price, I am very happy! Jobman ( I might be convinced to try the Denon 3805 though - it seems awful good for the price too)
  23. That is a pretty good price from the guy with the 4 Brickwalls on Audiogon, expecially since they are the "AUD" audio models. I tried to get him to sell me one for $149 shipped, but he was not going for it. I ended up buying new from Brickwall. I also bought an 8 outlet AUD model from a guy on Audiogon 2 weeks ago. I just put both into my system, getting rid of a Monster 1100 strip. First improvement was that with my 2 Monarchy SE-100 Delux Monoblocks plugged into the 2 outlet unit, I did not need my "cheater" plugs anymore. No more hum! The only way before to get rid of the hum was using the cheaters. (Even CC Poon, owner of Monarchy, recommends that) Other than that, no big difference so far in my HT equipment, other than I think my equipment is better off plugged into the Brickwall than the Monster. I did a lot of research also, and it cam down to Shunyata, Blue Circle Music or Brickwall. Price certainly entered into the decision, but they are all really good. I put a Monster 3600 into my system a couple weeks ago, and the only difference was my HT seemed to be a little more muffled or softer. Kind of like that "blanket on the speakers" analogy. I took it back. Oh yea, all this is plugged into a my dedicated 20amp circuit anyway, so no other interference from anything in the house. Regards Jobman
  24. Try Craigslist in the San Francisco area. Search for "Klipsch". There is a pair of K-Horns for $1500 and a pair of La Scalas for $990. (is that you looking for a pair on Craigslist in Sacramento?) Good Luck Jobman
