CECAA850
I've slowly been putting together a garage system for almost a year that is anchored by some used KP250's I picked up last year. Klipsch bass bins, where I live, are virtually non-existant so I decided to build some. I had a rough idea of what I was going to build but needed help with the details. I'd like to thank Michael Hurd for answering my constant barage of questions and keeping me pointed in the right direction. If you've never had the pleasure of corresponding with Michael, he has a wealth of knowledge, and more importantly in my case, the patience of Job. Thanks again Michael. Here we go, starting with chopping up 3 sheets of MDF. It won't take you long to realize that I'm closer to a wood butcher than cabinet maker, but the end product at least sounds pretty good. CECAA850
Hind sight is 20/20. I kinda built myself into a corner on the first box, learned from my mistakes and changed the order of panel assembly on the second box.
CECAA850
It was starting to resemble a coffin at this point.
CECAA850
Corner bracing had to be accounted for when figuring the cubic feet of displacement for the finished enclosure. Note, any pic can be clicked on to enlarge it. It will however expose FUBARs the might be missed in the smaller pics. Enlarge at your own risk. CECAA850
Hole done. Be sure you use a good mask or respirator when you cut or rout MDF. The dust is nasty. I'll also use a fan to blow on me to help keep the dust away.

CECAA850
I knew I'd be setting the 250's on top and wanted a little support across the open port.
CECAA850
The semi finished box. All of the panels were together but there was still a lot more work to do before they would make any sound. There was also another box to build. CECAA850
This is how I built the second box. It gives you a better idea of what's going on inside.

CECAA850
Here's the external connector. You'll notice the finish at this point. It's about the only thing I didn't do myself. I had the boxes sprayed with truck bedliner material. The light reflection is from my flash, they're not glossy at all.
CECAA850
Here's the north end of the driver looking south. Michael recomended this particular driver for it's power handling, extension and sensitivity.

CECAA850
Driver installed. I didn't realize it when I bought them that these drivers are meant to be flush mounted from the rear, which in my case was now impossible. Hmmm should I cut a door in them............nahhhh. I got some weatherstripping and made gaskets for the back of the drivers. They sealed off perfectly in the front mounted configuration.
