Moderators Youthman Posted February 7, 2010 Moderators Share Posted February 7, 2010 My wife asked me last night what I wanted for Valentines Day. One thing came to mind but I really didn't want her to spend that much on me for Valentines Day. She asked what it was and I said a Harmony One remote. She told me to order it today. I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that she bought herself a Coach purse last night. [] Anyone using the Harmony One in their system? What are your thoughts on it? I believe I can pick it up new for $150.
kelA
Hey Youthman, I am not using a Harmony, but here is a link with some info. http://www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bin/mboard/rc-harmony/list.cgi
Arky
No nothing about the one but i've no complaints with my 880. Logitech's forum is informative if you haven't been over there. Enjoy your purse.[]
Dmaul187
The One is great. It has a great feel to it with large buttons not seen previously on Harmony remotes. It also has nice touch screen functionality to control your devices and activities. The remote is very responsive and easy to setup. I would highly recommend it. Moderators Youthman Posted February 8, 2010 Author Moderators Share Posted February 8, 2010 Thx for the plug for the One Dmaul. Glad to hear it.
ScottDillard
Here's another vote for the Harmony One - I love mine. I can't compare it to some of the other models since it's the only one I've had, though...
Moderators Youthman Posted February 8, 2010 Author Moderators Share Posted February 8, 2010 Thx Scott. I've never owned a universal remote (other than the stock Onkyo or Yamaha learning remote) so I think anything will be sweet as long as it works. I too have nothing to compare it to. skonopa
I got one myself and it is a really nice unit. I only paid $150 for it myself (they used to go for something like $250). Nice feel and the touch-screen does work as advertised. Be prepared to spend some time to get it setup, though. Once you do, it really is nice. As for Valentines itself - well, I'll be skiing! Moderators Youthman Posted February 9, 2010 Author Moderators Share Posted February 9, 2010 My wife and took a ski trip to Snowshoe, WV this year. We love it there. Next year, I really want to go out west to Colorado. That would be sweet!
Devildog151
I Replaced five remotes with "One" and makes life so much easier. You can literally program every single button to do what you want. Cut and dry every home theater needs a universal remote.
ScottDillard
And having had older universals where if something went wrong you had to reprogram the whole thing, find the old separate remotes to do the learning cycle, etc., I can really appreciate having all the settings stored online so that you can reprogram it via computer in just a few minutes.
