NOZ
If this is such a great sub, then why is there so many of them for sale????? Just kind of weird. Maybe a little over rated?
jacksonbart
A tough economy might have something to due with it. There seems to be a lot of things for sale.
CECAA850
Buyers remorse? I don't know. It's a very good performing sealed sub. JL uses big amps and high excursion drivers to get big sound out of a (relatively) small cabinet. The fit and finish are very high end. Similar performance can be had at a cheaper price but with the trade-off of a larger enclosure.
o0O Bill O0o
because the internet direct companies make better performing subwoofers for 1/3 of the cost.
NOZ
Here's a link to Audiogon. There's usually even more. http://cgis.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/srch_fs.pl?searchstring=++JL+Audio+fathom&B1=go
TheEAR
Better at 1/3 the cost. LARGER, do not think size does not matter for people. It does more you may want to admit it. All competition is much larger than the f113, face the facts. The SVS Ultra is a good deal larger, the HSU 15" sealed is larger and not better performing.Less expensive,oh yes and a better value. And the economy in the USA is ..less than stellar these days. How many people have lost their homes...I will answer for ya... Millions, do you think this has no impact on people selling audio gear. Hmmm? Hmmm Lets be realistic and grounded on planet Earth for a minute ,shall we. Better yet build a Tuba HT sub(horn loaded) ,for $350 driver and cabinet material including plans ,plus maybe $250 for an amp you murder the Internet Direct subs. So...you can always do better.
