lens42
Last week I bought a pair of Cornwalls at an estate sales for $10. YES, $10! There were no grills and the cabinets are pretty beat, but the drivers look clean and cursory check indicates that none are damaged. I'd like to bring the speakers back to as close to original as possible. I found grill cloth via a lead on this forum, but I'd also like to put back the Corwall logos. Is there any way to get the metal badges?
Pete H
Welcome to the forum. I would check e-bay and post this in the garage section as WTB to see if any members have any they will part with. $10 was great, regardless of the condition.[Y]
Tom Mobley
can you post the serial numbers so we can see what year they are? this would determine which badges they use. do they have grills?
Tom Mobley
$10???? how many micro-seconds did it take to the wallet out?
lens42
The serial numbers are 8407319 and 8407320. When I heard the lady say, "$5 each" while pointing at the two cabinets, I went into a bit of shock. But I managed to reach into my pocket and pull out a ten. I also had to go home for a different car because they wounldn't fit in what I was driving. It was just as well because I also grabbed a hand truck. They had no one to help me move them. Rivernuggets
If that were me going back to get a different car, 100 mph! $10? Pinch yourself. Excellent find.
Tom Mobley
his speakers are '84 vintage, does that call for the rectangular copper badges? I still have some of the pie-slice emblems reproduced as a forum project back around the turn of the century. They're free for the asking but you have to send me USPS Priority mail postage and a mailing label so all I have to do is drop them in an envelope and send. Let me know via PM if you're interested. Tom Mobley
I'd have been afraid to leave long enough to get a different car. I can hear it now " Well this nice man came in and offered me $50 for them, you can frind some others can't you?" AAAAARRRRRRGGGGHHHHH....
