ball of confusion
I have heresy III's and I don't know where to plug them into my receiver or if I have the cable plugged into the correct spot from TV/Reciever. Don't laugh, I'm a girl ;-)
MechMan
Could you tell us the make and model of your reciever...
Moderators Youthman Posted September 25, 2010 Moderators Share Posted September 25, 2010 It's all good, welcome to the forums. On the back of your receiver you should see several red and black binding posts. Look for the one that says Front Left and Front Right. Your speaker wire has two wires in it, one for the Positive (Red) connection and one for the Negative (black) connection. It doesn't matter which one you connect to the receiver's positive and negative binding posts, just as long as when you connect the speaker wire to the speaker, you connect it the same way. Often speaker wire has writing on one of the speaker wires. I typically connect this to the Negative (Black) binding post on the receiver and on the speaker. Feel free to ask any additional questions you might have.

BigCliff
Have you ever hooked up speakers before?
ball of confusion
Y yes I have there, Big Cliff. It has been a minute and I am confused.
BigCliff
For one it looks like you are missing the metal strap that connects the Low and High ends of your speakers. It looks gold, copper in color and should connect the two red and black terminals on the back of the speakers.
M6 Driver
Love and Rocket fan are you? Looks like your missing the jumpers. They go on the binding posts on the back of your speakers. they are brass in color fit behind the binding posts. Do you have those still? http://www.klipsch.com/na-en/products/heresy-iii-overview/
BigCliff
The connections are correct from the receiver to the speakers but you need the strap or run two small wires from top red to bottom red terminal on speaker and the same on the black terminals. ball of confusion
I do have those things. The way the I read the manual, I thought that I was suppose to remove them if my speaker wires were bare wires.? Should I put those back on even if, my connections are just bare wires?
BigCliff
Yes they connect the low and high crossovers on your speakers. You only do not need the strap if you are going to bi wire or bi amp the speaker. So yes put them back on.
Moderators Youthman Posted September 25, 2010 Moderators Share Posted September 25, 2010 is that where I made my mistake? switching them now. Yes, you are on the right track now. The surrounds would be if you had two speakers that you wanted to put behind your couch for effects during movies. The "Center" would be a speaker that typically goes above or below your TV. The others are correct, you need jumpers on your Speakers. They are usually metal bars that you connect both positive terminals on the speaker and a separate jumper to connect the two negative terminals together. If you do not have the metal ones, you can simply use speaker wire to connect the two positive together and the two negative together. This thread might help. BigCliff
The way you had them hooked up you should still have been able to hear the high end of the speaker. Did you hear anything?
