Moderators dtel Posted October 6, 2010 Moderators Share Posted October 6, 2010 Your safe if you stick with the normal brands, HK, Denon, Yamaha, just stay away from the cheaper sony's. The lower end of most brands are fine but for some reason the cheap sonys sound thin, and well cheap.
NMMechEst
Yamaha and Onkyo are pretty good. Yamaha makes a 5.1 receiver called the RXV367. What's your price point? Those yamahas will do full range for the front two channels, and they're only $250 - $375. Since you have six speakers, I'm at a loss as to how you're gonna hook them up. You either end up with two speakers sharing an output, or shore a center speaker.
carbon summit
You can't add an amp to a 367. I'd look for a used 663. I have one and have been very happy with it.
peshewah
Newegg has Yamaha RX V1900 for $579. Thats a really good deal. In think its like 130wpc but not forsure. I think that it is only offered on the weekends at that price. Good luck.
psg
I like hk receivers and even buy cheap refurbs. No problems so far. A 6-Cornwall HT will rock!!!
