amheck
Hi everyone, I'm shopping for some new speakers and was curious if anyone around the Tampa area who has the reference series (or maybe the 650's) would be willing to do a demo. I called the local Klipsch dealer and they don't have any of the Reference line out on the floor and everything is special order. I have some other speakers on my short list, but wanted to give these a listen as I think they'll probably be the most cost effective in the ones I was considering. Thanks in advance! Moderators Youthman Posted December 21, 2010 Moderators Share Posted December 21, 2010 I'm not too far from Tampa (20 min). There are a few other members out that way as well. What models in the Reference line are you considering?

amheck
Still kinda learning my way around the models and still doing some research, but I was thinking about maybe the RF82's or RF62's and a matching center. Maybe the original RF7's, but those might be a tad big for my room. Just looking for a nice, exciting HT/gaming experience.
captmobley
I'm in Gulfport and would be happy to let you hear a Heritage system. I have Klipschorns, Heresy II's, and Chorus II's here and LaScalas at my cabin in Inverness.
Moderators Youthman Posted December 21, 2010 Moderators Share Posted December 21, 2010 I would definitely take Capt up on his offer. Khorns are something to experience. I heard John's in North Florida and they were amazing. You are more than welcome to listen to my RF-83 system. My son and I have been playing Black Ops in the HT and it's pretty sweet playing on an 8 foot screen and being able to feel the explosions, hear guys trying to creep up behind you. My advice is to try to listen to as many speakers as you can so that your ear can determine what you prefer. Some enjoy Reference, others love Heritage. Both have their strengths and weaknesses, price points and footprints. Regardless of what you decide, Klipsch has something for everyone.
