edwardre
Yeah, the seller has posted questions here in this catagory. See below...."Info on original Cornwalls (w/pics)" Chris - Here's hoping you survived the layoffs. ------------------ Ed
Chris Robinson
Boy, that's gutsy. It's one thing to end an auction early, it's another thing entirely to declare to the world that you broke the rules and sold it outside of the auction! Judging from the gentleman's command of the English language ("introducted"), I shouldn't be surprised. Just trying to look out for my buddies on the Left Coast! Ed, thanks for the kind thoughts. Think things will be OK, but it looks like manager #5 in 18 months is about to step up to the plate. I know so many people who are losing or have lost their jobs. Never seen the semiconductor industry THIS bad. Hope never to see it like this again. ------------------ "Bullsh*t!" -PWK- --------------------- TWO-CHANNEL SYSTEM Eico HF-81 Eico HFT-90 AES AE-25 "Superamp" (in temporary retirement) AES AE-3 Pre-amp (in temporary retirement) New Tube 4000 CD Player 1976 Klipschorns (KCBR's & ALK'ed) HOME THEATER Klipsch 1968 ALK Cornwall "II"s (LF/RF) ALK Belle Klipsch (Center) Klipsch Heresy (RR/LR) Klipsch KSW-12 sub Sonic Frontiers Anthem AMP1 (driving Cornwalls) Sonic Frontiers Anthem AMP1 (driving Heresy's) Denon AVR-4800 Toshiba SD-3109 DVD
Audible Nectar
I've seen this happen quite frequently, where a seller sells them outside of ebay. I've also seen where the seller will post an item without reserve, then pull the auction before it ends when the bid is too low for the seller. While such actions are certainly "uncool", are such tactics specifically prohibited by ebay? ------------------ First we Rock, then we Roll! Cornwalled
Don't feel bad about the speakers- they were total mismatches! One was a Cornwall II with vertical horns, the other, a cornwall I from a totally different year! That means it has horizontal horns. If you look closely at the stickers you'll see the letters in the serial numbers (which determines year) don't match up, and that only one of them is a Cornwall II. On top of that, not the same finish or grille color either. This seller is as bad as that j*ckoff that tried to sell Speakerlab copied K-horns as Klipsch k-horns. Oh well, serves as a note, beware, frauds exist everywhere, even among Klipsch "fans" as they claim to be. best of luck to everyone, and as always, I'll keep my eye out, looking for good deals, and more importantly, protecting from BAD deals..lol Jon ------------------ markvi82@hotmail.com 1981 Cornwall I's Yamaha DSP-A1000 integrated amp Acoustic Research AR3A's for Pro-Logic rears (Music only setup) Marantz CD Player Pioneer turntable with Audio Technica cartridge
fini
Just because they were mismatched speakers does not make the seller a jerkoff. Chris hit the nail on the head when he said he thought the seller didn't know what he had (admit it...this is what we're all hoping for anyway, right? That and hoping no other bidders knows what he has, either). It all boils down to "buyer beware." $400 for this "pair" would still have been a good deal. Somewhere out there there's another pair just like 'em (maybe in my sock drawer...). fini
Good2BHome
FYI I traded E-mails with the seller early in the auction. I believe he knew what he had and was trying to play dumb. A day or two later he posted additional pictures to the web address that was/is posted in the auction, that revealed the serial numbers that he had sent to me in an earlier E-mail.
