Ironsave
Cliff; I enjoyed our get together...... Both subs sounded great mated to your Forte's/ KG 5.5s...... I think once we decided it was close enough to call it a draw; and connected them BOTH at different locations in the room; the bass became nearly overpowering..... Carbon; sorry this is not much help........ I say go for whichever design you like best..... They are different designs...... (HSU is 10" ported/ down firing; Emo is Sealed 12" foreward firing)...... Or whichever is cheapest...... Cliff and I both agree we are both happy with our choices....... Anyone considering either of these subs should be happy knowing they compare well...... I will also note; ANYONE considering a set of CHORUS IIS; JUMP ON THEM!!!!!!!! Cliff; your Chori sounded AWESOME! So did the Forte's and the KG 5.5s..... That Kenwood integrated amp is AWESOME...... Cliff; You; Sir are a lucky man; Great sounds and a great (tolerating) Wife..... Thanks again for the hospitality.........
BigCliff
Matt, Great time enjoyed our listening experiance. The two subs were pretty much evenly matched and could not distinguish any difference when swithing back and forth. But they sure did work well together when seperated from each other in the room[], very nice.
carbon summit
Thanks guys! I posted a thread in the subwoofer section asking for opinions about my four finalists in my subwoofer search rather than hijack your thread. They are all bigger than what I had planned on getting but after faxing my floor plan to both HSU and SVS and they came back with recommendations for monsters I figure thats all the excuse I needed to go big!!! Maybe they are just upselling me, but my living room has a lot of open area around it and vaulted ceilings so they probably are right. http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/t/144571.aspx
BigCliff
All I can say when it comes to Subs BIGGER is BETTER! Go for it but it will cost $$$$$$

Quiet_Hollow
If either of you two get chance to head north, your welcome to drop in and listen to a horn-sub paired with some La Scalas at my place. [H] Or you could just check out the video I made, but it feels more incredible in person:

Islander
Or you could just check out the video I made, but it feels more incredible in person: I checked that out, within the abilities of computer speakers, then I saw Subwoofer Cat. DrWho
What, no Klipsch in the shootout? Bummer I missed this one, but I'd be up for the trip to Milwaukee...

BigCliff
What, no Klipsch in the shootout? Bummer I missed this one, but I'd be up for the trip to Milwaukee... Hi Mike, Well we had plenty of Klipsch but just not in the subwoofer dept. I should have asked you if you wanted to come but I did not think you would have wanted to come that far, MY BAD. It was only Matt and myself there, I did invite Steve because he lives so close, but he could not make it or maybe he did not get my message because that was when the forum was having email problems. Sorry, Cliff
