Max2
I have a WIFI setup in my downstairs office. I need to get internet via a Cat5 cable to hook my new receiver up with. the receiver is upstairs in my listening room. Is there some sort of "bridge" device that will grab my Wifi signal and convert it to a hard line for my receiver? I would manually run a cable, but Im dealing with exterior walls, steep roof angles and pumped foam insulation. Thanks
pzannucci
I use a Buffalo Air Station Nfiniti. It has multiple ports so I have my blu-ray, xBox, and computer running through it. Works great. deafbykhorns
Just about any router will bridge these days and gives you multiple ports. I would get the newer gigabit router so you dont need to upgrade later.
Max2
So do I have to use something like that Buffalo unit or will any "new" wireless router do the same thing? Thanks for the info
pzannucci
I haven't seen many wireless routers act as wireless access points allowing it to talk to an additional wireless router that is actually hooked to the outgoing network or perhaps I haven't looked hard enough. The Buffalo is inexpensive and does so seamlessly which is good for folks who want as close to plug and play as possible.
