Old Planet v. New Planet

The 2000 sounded nice after about 40 hrs break-in time. Cymbals had a great shimmer and tympani some great skin. Before that it was very thin and dry. Ultimately, I couldn't get past it's lack of heft(read build quality) and it WAS a bit touchy to vibration. It did leave me wondering about the Jupiter(?), however, at $1800 I wasn't willing to find out.

Sound,

Have you thought about adding a DAC to the Planet? I like the laid back sound, but sometimes I would like alittle more of a b slapping sound.

I have been kicking around the idea about getting an ART DI/O.

I am closing on a house on Friday so it maybe awhile before I buy anything.

Just wondering.

Actually, I sold it and have had a few players/changers in my revolving and evolving system since then. I am currently using a Dynaco CDV-PRO that I rolled a matched pair of NOS Siemens E188CC'S(7308'S) into. The sound is extremely good, especially given the total cost.
