rennocneb
I would say the RF-7 sounding better is very room dependent i sold klipsch speakers and the RF-7 is very bright with certain amps and in some rooms i chose the RF-5 simply because i liked the sound a lil better. In the right room the RF-7s could be awesome but for a lot of customers they are way to bright almost to the point of it sounding like they have no bass output at all. But again in the right room they could sound good just not a reflective one
boa12
ren, was that using a pre/pro w/ proper bass mgmt or those which most seem to turn out with those high fixed crossovers like 80-100hz (my pet peeve)? ------------------ My Home Systems Page
m00n
rennocneb ya, I know what you mean. When I listened to them in the showroom, I was a bit nervous. They sounded so big and so bright. I was a bit afraid that it would just drowned my room with too much sound. But I took the chance. And a chance I am very happy with because they sound supurb in my living room. How they will sound in my someday to be dedicated cinema, we will see. But I am sure I will be just as happy. Hmm, this brings me to a new question I have to ask..... Time to make a yet a new post. ------------------ m00nsCinema the m00n system FRONTS: RF-7 CENTER: RC-7 SURROUNDS: RS-7 SUB: RSW-12 RECEIVER: Harman Kardon AVR 520 DVD: Toshiba SD 3205 (DD, DTS) TV: Samsung 27" Flatscreen COMPUTER: ProMedia 4.1 c>Microsoft XBOXc> f>
JLL
For rennocneb, I do not find the klipsch reference speakers bright at all, at home and at the dealer. Did you try placing other speakers in the same spot you placed the klipsch and see how they sound. I have heard martin logan and also paradigm that sounded more harsh than the klispch. The sound i hear out the klipsch reference series speakers are a real, live, natural sound. joe This message has been edited by JLL on 05-23-2002 at 02:12 AM
skonopa
I was somewhat skeptical about just how good the RF-7s would sound to me, especially over the RF-3IIs. I went and tried a pair in my house and played with them for a good week. I really ended up liking the sound, even over the RF-3IIs. As a result, I ended up forking over the additional cash to go with a complete Reference 7 setup. I finally got my RS-7s and one of the RC-7s. Unfortuntaly, while unpacking the RC-7, I noticed one of the drivers was damaged. Back it went so right now, I have no center channel. It should be here tommorrow (friday). I am still awaiting an additional one for my rear channel - prabably wont get be here until sometime the week after next. ------------------ Steven Konopa Fredericksburg, VA Denon AVR3802 (Receiver) RF-7 (Fronts) RC- (Center) RC- (Rear) RS-7 (A Surrounds) Infinity RS2000.5 (B Surrounds - recycled) REL Storm III (Subwoofer 1) Yamaha YST-SW40 (Subwoofer 2 - Recycled) JVC XV-S65GD (DVD) Sharp DX-200 (CD - ancient) RCA DWD490RE (DirecTV/Ultimate TV receiver) Sharp 32 inch (TV)
