XxCowboyxX
My xpa-5 will be in tonight and I am curious what settings I need to set on my receiver to get more bass out of my rf7ii's. The receiver has a parametric EQ. Yamaha v667. As of right now I get next to no bass out of them. Hopefully the amp will help but I can't wait to hear the whole system on good clean power. Zen Traveler
Setting your RF-7s to Large will get the most bass out of them, but if you have a capable sub I would set them to Small and a crossover of 60 Hz and see how your Home Theater handles it...Btw, if you list your equipment in the preference section (or signature) it gives responders a better handle as to what recommend. XxCowboyxX
Is there not a setting the the parametric EQ that I can turn up to get more bass out of just the fronts?
Quiet_Hollow
Do you know the in-room frequency response of the front speakers while at your listening position as of now? This is the first step.
MikeFord
Changing amps should have little or no effect on the bass unless one or both of them is defective. For a start I would recommend turning every EQ function on the reciever off, as well as any other sound "enhancements" and see what it sounds like.If the bass is still very low, something is likely wrong. Speaker placement could also be an issue. Using EQ to increase bass takes a LOT of power, and if you use the same amp to feed the bass as the main channels, when that amp starts to clip it will sound nasty on the main speakers. When you use a separate amp for bass like a powered subwoofer its possible to abuse it much more intensely without making the sound nasty.
