SteveBachman
Is that fuzzy top to the Denon Audyssey microphone a protective cover that needs to be removed prior to use. Please advise asap.
jhoak
While I can't say with absolute certainty my first impulse is to remove it prior to calibration. I've had a couple of Onkyo AVRs and a Marantz all with Audyssey and none of them have had any manner of covering over the microphone. On the other hand it would be an interesting experiment to do the calibration with and without the cover and compare the results. Me... I'd take it off. Of all of the Audyssey based AVRs I've owned none of them ever had any kind of "fuzzy cover". Never owned a Denon though. Good luck to you. Let us know how it works out. Especially if you decide to try it with and without the cover.
nezff
I have a SPL meter with a fuzzy cover for wind, but never seen a Audyssey mic with it.
