TBrennan
Hmmm, would appear to be pretty good speakers. Well made; edge-wound voicecoils, cast frames, nice. Shows the important influence that JBL has had on Japanese speaker makers; Onken, TAD, Fostex, Pioneer HPMs etc.

I seem to remember a joke calling them "Hump-m'"s. ------------------ Tom's Money Pit
kenratboy
Yes, they do look nice, and I agree with the statement that JBL has influenced the Japanese market BIG TIME. Would I take them if someone gave them, to me? HELL YEAH! They do look nice, nicer than polk, etc. ------------------ Receiver: Sony STR-DE675 CD player: Sony CDP-CX300 Turntable: Technics SL-J3 with Audio-Technica TR485U Speakers: JBL HLS-610 Subwoofer: JBL 4648A-8 Sub amp: Parts Express 180 watt Center/surrounds: Teac 3-way bookshelfs Yes, it sucks, but better to come. pierceb
I'm positive that they were HPM's. My dad had a pair of HPM 900's when I was a kid. -PB
skonopa
Those are some sharp looking speakers. I'd be curious as to how they sound. I noticed that they use cast-aluminum feet. I know there has been some complaints on here about the plastic feet that Klipsch uses on its Reference Series speakers. I wonder if it would be possible if Klispch offered the option of metel feet (perhaps as an extra cost accessory that the end-user can install themselves). Those feet on the HX speakers in the above link just look more sturdier than the feet on the Klipsch RF-<357> speakers. ------------------ Steven Konopa Fredericksburg, VA Denon AVR3802 RF-3II (Front) RC-3II (Center) RC-3II (Rear) RS-3II (A surrounds) Infinity RS2000.5 (B surrounds - recycled) REL Storm III (Subwoofer 1) Yamaha YST-SW40 (Subwoofer 2 - recycled) 32 inch Sharp (TV) JVC XV-S65GD (DVD)
