iDunno
So i went to best buy and for a hour i tested the altecs, klipschs and the logitechs, side by side. I got the logitechs. Heres my impression of the other two: Too little bass with klipsch. Sub driver pops with altecs and klipsch. High price. The controls being on the speaker on the klipsch was a inconvinuce. My impression of logitechs: Bass too loud. M3D is good. Control pod is great. My dad told me to get these because he is a fan of good high quality loud bass. Sound card: none, i got me a radio shack y spitter and split the output on my onboard soundcard into two and connected it to the front and the back. I also turned on m3d so it sounds good now...sound like 4 different channels of sound. Total price: 174.99 without tax plus best buy 2 yr protection plan. I saved me a bundle without a sound card. note: the bass knob on the logitechs are at minimum and bass still too loud lol. justin_tx_16
if you have an intel board with a CNR slot, get the Hercules CNR sound card, 4.1 sure for $19 and it is a great card. don't look at the price and think it is trash, it is cheap because it does not need to have all the power on the card, instead it uses the computer to do the work. check them out. for $29 you get a 5.1 card ------------------ -justin SoundWise Support A technical help site created by me and my fellow Klipschers I am an amateur, if it is professional; ProMedia help you want email Amy or call her @ 1-888-554-5665 or for an RA# 800-554-7724 ext 5 Klipsch Home Audio help you want, email support@klipsch.com or call @ 1-800-KLIPSCH RA# Fax Number=317-860-9140 / Parts Department Fax Number=317-860-9150s>

iDunno
with the santa cruz, they dont give you powerdvd or win dvd with 4 channel support...so i am going with the fortissimo because of better software included.

Gluegun
It's too loud because you can't turn it down to neutral, duhhh.... at least you can turn an SVS down to 'neutral' and below that! ------------------ "Feh."
