philg4d
How difficult is it to setup the Emotiva UMC-1?
Moderators Youthman Posted December 26, 2011 Moderators Share Posted December 26, 2011 I didn't find it difficult to navigate through the GUI Menu. There are a lot of settings you can configure. I still haven't devoted time to setting up the EQ properly. I've just set it to what my ears like but I know it's not the "proper" way to set the EQ. Moderators Youthman Posted December 26, 2011 Moderators Share Posted December 26, 2011 IMO, the EmoQ doesn't work very well. It's nothing like Audessey, YPAO etc as it's their own auto calibration software. I found that the mic was not accurate on distance and did not like how it EQ'd the room. Not sure if the latest firmware release fixed that or not.
philg4d
I listen to music 50% how is the Emotiva gear on 2 channel sound quality?
Vital
I listen to music 50% how is the Emotiva gear on 2 channel sound quality?Music is Emotiva's forte. The only gripe you will find about the UMC is firmware bugs which are almost non-existent with the latest firmware from what I'm reading. I plan to do the update any day now. For music though, you will have a very hard time finding an AVR at any price point that can compete with the UMC IMO.
