Receiver choice?

I didn't find it difficult to navigate through the GUI Menu. There are a lot of settings you can configure. I still haven't devoted time to setting up the EQ properly. I've just set it to what my ears like but I know it's not the "proper" way to set the EQ.

IMO, the EmoQ doesn't work very well. It's nothing like Audessey, YPAO etc as it's their own auto calibration software. I found that the mic was not accurate on distance and did not like how it EQ'd the room. Not sure if the latest firmware release fixed that or not.

I listen to music 50% how is the Emotiva gear on 2 channel sound quality?

Music is Emotiva's forte. The only gripe you will find about the UMC is firmware bugs which are almost non-existent with the latest firmware from what I'm reading. I plan to do the update any day now. For music though, you will have a very hard time finding an AVR at any price point that can compete with the UMC IMO.
