ChipByrd
I was wondering how many of you replaced the mids on you Fortes. I did the BEC ti tweeter and crossover upgrade. What I've read is that the mods on the mids require some change in the band pass. So here are my questions: 1) How much improvement did this upgrade render? 2) Is it something that a technologically challenged person can do? jbsl
Yes if I can do it you can do it, I think it took a screwdriver and took my time. I did the crossovers first then a month or two later the tweeter and liked the results. However the midrange did not seem to blend as well as before the upgrades so a couple of months later did the midrange and that balanced out the sound like before. I am not sure aobut the band pass. wuzzzer
I like all the changes/upgrades I've made to my Fortes. Like jbsl wrote all it takes is a screwdriver and your time, very easy.
Cal Blacksmith
I changed the mids on my F1s without modding the crossover and I really like the results. YMMV! EDIT; I also changed them on my cornwalls and my sons KG5.5s
