DrWho Posted March 14, 2013 Share Posted March 14, 2013 Still in all, they do strike me as being inherently dangerous, and I'm thinking that cans are the safer bet. You can get better isolation with in-ears, which means you don't need to turn it up as loud to overcome environmental noise. You also get more low frequency content with in-ears, which is typically the reason for turning it up in the first place (to get that full sound). Although it is a lot easier to tear cans off your head when shocked by something too loud...it hurts like heck ripping in-ears outta my head. I always start the music before installing my earbuds for that very reason. I do agree that if you're not careful, that it's easy to listen too loud. But then that problem exists with home speakers too. Should we ask Klipsch to get rid of their 120dB+ capabilities?
