Rick
Up for grabs is an Onkyo/Integra TX-DS939 receiver. It was Integra's top of the line A/V receiver in 1996, retailing for $3000. It had the distinction of being the world's first THX certified 5.1 receiver. While it is outdated technologically (no component or HDMI video, or the latest codecs), it has multichannel analog inputs, and pre-outs for all channels. Therefore, if you have a Blu-ray player with multichannel outs, you can still enjoy the latest HD codecs. I was surprised to see that it has two subwoofer pre-outs (must have been very rare in 1996). It could also be used as a 2 channel amp (where it performs better than I expected). The amp section is pretty stout for a receiver, with a very large toroidal transformer, and 2 huge Elna capacitors. It is in very good condition for its age, with only minor scrapes and chips here and there (I'd rate it a 7 on the Audiogon scale). I did not get the remote or owner's manual with it when I purchased it, so I downloaded and printed the manual. I then purchased a nice Sony universal remote, which controls most basic functions on the unit. And if you have either a composite or S-Video cable hooked up to your TV, you can completely control the unit with the remote. Highlights: 120 watts per channel min. RMS, 2 channels driven, between 20 Hz and 20,000 Hz, with no more than .05% THD 100 watts per channel min. RMS, 5 channels driven, between 20 Hz and 20,000 Hz, with no more than .08% THD Frequency Response: 20 to 30,000 Hz, +/- 0.5 db Triple tone controls: Bass/Midbass/Treble Signal to noise ratio: Phono ~ 80 db, Line ~ 100 db 17-1/8" x 7-11/16" x 17-15/16" 46.3 lbs. My asking price is $195 shipped. I can only accept a Postal Money Order or Certified Check at this time, and will only ship to the Continental US.
