Taz
Sometimes I run different amps. At present I unplug the Tube amps as I don't know if powering them up without a load would hurt them or not. I would not want SHMBO to turn on a system that is not hooked to speakers if it might cause a problem. These are my MC30's and Fisher 400. Have pile of $$$ in both set ups and may just be paranoid........Taz
djk
Put a resistor on one of the output taps, it could be a high value like 100Ω/5W, and be enough to protect the amplifier.
tube fanatic
There's no concern about your tube amps being turned on without speakers connected as long as there's no signal input. How are you switching your sources between the amps? If you are physically disconnecting them from one amp and plugging into another, then you can certainly leave the amps plugged in if that's more convenient. Maynard <P>Manually switching the CD player from one amp to another for the time being. Hope to change in the future, Thanks.................Taz
