Imageman
Hey guys, I need some more help on surrounds. A while back, HornED made a great suggestion on some KSPs, but I just can't find them anywhere. Here is my situation: I need some rear surrounds that are direct radiators, that can be mounted on a wall, and angled down (they have to be up high due to location). I was thinking of usine KLF-c7s, but I am not sure how I can mount them on my wall, and I don't know how well they will behave verticle- as they have to be mounted verticle due to the wierd wall they will be on. My current setup is this: Epic CF-2s as mains, KLF-C7 as center, and Quintets as surounds (I have to peg them to get them to keep up- they suck for this application) Any ideas? I was thinking of SB-3s and trying to mount them somehow. ANY thoughts would be apreciated. Imageman
I didn't see what thread you were talking about thre Justin, maybe try posting it again. The problem with RS-3s though is that because of teh very odd location of these surrounds, tehy have to be pointed directly at the listener, and have obstructions on either sides. This is why, sonically, I don't think and 'dispersion' style surround will work. If I am wrong, please tell me everyone. dbflash
I Man, I am going to use a pair of KLF C-7's for suuround's. I am going to make stands for them using 2x4's and brackets. Once I get the frames built I am going to put them in a plywood box and fill them with gravel. I am also going to use threaded rod to attach to where the feet go to keep them from falling over. I am going to mount them vertically. I am going to rotate the horn 90 degrees. The reason I'm making the stands is I can adjust the speakers without drilling alot of holes in the wall. I know this won't help with mounting them to the wall, except you could screw the brackets into the wall studs. The part I'm not sure about was how to keep the speakers from falling from the wall without drilling holes into the speakers. I am hoping to get the HT system started in the next week or so. I will let you know if this works. Danny
