CyberSlacker
i am looking for a pair of Heresy 1s. some of the serial numbers have a letter in the middle some don't. i know the letter designates the year but why don't they all have it? what is the cutoff date for the 1s ? thanks, mark
HDBRbuilder
Pretty simple: After 23 years, the company ran out of letters to designate year of manufacture, so they opted to use all numeric. Heresy II superceded the Heresy in 1985. ------------------ I can now receive private messages
CyberSlacker
do any of the numbers designate the year??
HDBRbuilder
Offhand, I can't remember whether the first few numbers designate year/month/day...or year/week...or what....but the time of manufacture can be determined from the numeric serial numbers. You are best off getting Heresys made between 1977 and 1983, though...especially if they are Decorator birch ones...because the build quality is likely much better(I built them then). Oh yes, my modesty knows no bounds!! ------------------ I can now receive private messages
Danartdis
Slacker, I think if you navigate around this site enough, you can find the chart with that displays the correlation between serial numbers and year of manufacture.
