tpg
Now this looks promising.... here are the specs as stated by Alienware: Name: Matrox Parhelia GPU Speed: 220MHz Memory Configuration: 128MB 550MHz DDR RAMDAC Speed: Dual 400MHz Interface: AGP 4x TV-Out Support: Yes Multiple Display Support: Yes Fill Rate: 3.52Gigapixels/s Memory Bandwidth: 17.6GB/s Special Features: 512-bit Graphics Processing Unit, 256-bit Memory Interface, DualHead-HF, Surround gaming, 10-bit GigaColor, 16x Fragment Antialiasing If I had to make a bet on anything, I'd say the 512 bit gpu and 256 bit memory is something to have.... and 16x antialiasing is nothing to shake a stick at. Maybe it is time for a new card..... ------------------ Have a ProMedia sound problem? Visit SoundWise for help. Still have PM sound probs? TheEAR
I tested the Matrox new wonder this week, superb image quality(best of the best)and good 3D. I say good overall not for the price,as a GF4 4200 outperforms this Matrox in all tests I ran. Its mostly a card for those who want two to three displays, moslty office work.As a gaming card it fails from the cliff, you can get better performance for under %40 of the price! Features at nice and plenty, performance is good, price is BAD and way too high.Unless you need 3 monitor support. I'll keep my ATI 8500 AIW 128MB and the ASUS GF4 4600. Next stop...ATI 9700 when its out TheEAR(s) Now theears

TheEAR
Ati Radeon 9700PRO...CHECK Love the performance and even the looks of the card. To anyone in doubt, the 9700PRO is worth its asking price. TheEAR(s) Now theears
Hardy
Hehe you just *had* to dig out that old thread huh? It is really a shame, though, that the 9700Pro does not support two DVI outs (it is to be found on Matrox Parhelia as well as the upcoming FireGLX1-version of 9700Pro). - Hardy

justin_tx_16
i need a new vid card that can actually output a decent signal to my HDTV. i wonder if i should get a card with DVI and connect that to an HDTV decoder to get a 1080i picture... or is that even possible? ------------------ -justin SoundWise promediatech@Klipsch.com /1-888-554-5665 - RA# 800-554-7724 ext 5s> Email Me
