FS: Cambridge Audio 640A V2.0---Cancel Sale, Getting Repaired

I have for sale a Cambridge Audio 640A V2.0 integrated amplifier for sale for $125.00 shipped.

Cancelling sale, sending in for repair.

Cosmetically, the 640A is in great shape, inside and outside.

!!!!

Functionality wise, it defaults to protection mode with a series of 3 blinking bursts, which "can" indicate some DC offset. I had a very qualified tech(35+ years experience) go through the amp and he found no reason for it to be triggering the protection circuitry. He detected no DC offset, no factory bias deviations, no cracked soldering, or any concerning issues. A search on line will yield several comments about the protection circuitry being very(too) sensitive.

!!!!

Someone who is tech-savvy "may" be able to get it up and running with little effort or may choose to send it to an authorized Cambridge Audio repair facility. I sold my CA 540A to get this 640A along with the matching CA 640C CD player and now I may be selling the 640C since I will not have a matching pair anymore. If also interested in CD player, please let me know.

The $175.00 $125.00 "as is" price includes the remote control, manual, power cord, and willland's custom packing job to ensure safe delivery with Fed Ex Ground. PayPal fees are on me.

The 640A v2 specs at 75w/ch at 8ohms/120w/ch at 4ohms

I wanted to offer the 640A here before I placed an "as is, not functioning properly" ad on Ebay.

Thanks for looking,

Bill

Tim,

Thanks for your help and suggestion.

The protection mode triggers when I power on with nothing hooked up(speakers, source, etc.). Other than an overly sensitive protection circuitry, my tech could find nothing that did not meet spec with the amp. No leaking caps, blown transistors, out of spec bias, or anything to mention that could be suspect.
