HDBRbuilder
"MR" would be "mahoghany raw"...meaning no finish was applied to the veneer at the plant....just sanded and shipped out....kinda strange since most people wanted mahoghany at least laquered, though. Possibly, the original purchaser wanted the finish custom applied locally to match some mahoghany furniture already in his/her possession, though...happened on occassion that customers would order speakers "raw" (even when I was there) so that they could get a custom match in finish to furniture they already had...especially with woods that naturally had varying shades of the "red" tones and such(cherry, mahoghany, maple, etc) and tended to darken over time...very difficult to get a match to other furniture tones unless you are able to compare the finishes in person...and under the same light conditions. ------------------ I can now receive private messages
