Jeff Matthews
One for the techies: What is a neat and cheap way to have my TV wirelessly be my laptop monitor? Windows 8.1. I am not talking about streaming videos; I am talking about having the TV be my monitor. Thanks for suggestions.

Chris A
Too many choices that I haven't yet tried or read a review on. I did find this one, however: http://www.tested.com/tech/set-top-boxes/458922-best-wireless-hdmi-video-transmitter-today/

Chris A
I'd recommend a lower cost device, but all the reviews that I've read on less expensive wireless HDMI devices seem to have issues with lack of power, which translates into the maximum distance that the two devices can be separated. Some less expensive ones apparently have issues starting at 5-6 feet (2 metres) separation distance. Note that there will be ~0.5 second delay using HDMI from the response that you can see from your laptop monitor.
