skonopa
m00n asks: But take the movie Titan AE for example, when the space ships fly by, they have this..... well, almost whistle whine kind of sound. Is that because they have horns rather than tweaters? Are you talking about those little Druj fighter ships? If so, they have always had that kinda whiny sound to them (the setup I had before the Klipsch was not to shappy in of itself ). I am willing to bet (and I have noticed this myself), that due to the much greater amount of detail that you get out of the RF-7s, the sound is much more noticable. I peronally think it is really cool. Unfortunatly, I never got to see Titan AE at the movie theater, so I have no comparison as to how it actually sounded in the theater. ------------------ Steven Konopa Fredericksburg, VA Denon AVR3802 (Receiver) RF-7 (Fronts) RC-7 (Center) RC-7 (Rear) RS-7 (A Surrounds) Infinity RS2000.5 (B Surrounds - recycled) REL Storm III (Subwoofer 1) Yamaha YST-SW40 (Subwoofer 2 - Recycled) JVC XV-S65GD (DVD) Sharp DX-200 (CD - ancient) RCA DWD490RE (DirecTV/Ultimate TV receiver) Sharp 32 inch (TV) This message has been edited by skonopa on 08-01-2002 at 12:12 PM
m00n
Yes the Druj ships... Among other sounds in movies. Again, I stress, that I like the sounds, the clarity, I just suppose I need to get used to it is all. ------------------ m00nsCinema to be the m00n system FRONTS: RF-7 CENTER: RC-7 SURROUNDS: RS-7 SUB: RSW-12 RECEIVER: Harman Kardon AVR 520 DVD: Toshiba SD 3205 (DD, DTS) TV: Samsung 27" Flatscreen COMPUTER: ProMedia 4.1 c>Microsoft XBOXc> f>
jstanton
I like Klipschs because for me they accurately reproduce the sound of LIVE music performances. Generally speaking, "other" speakers are good for making a relatively compromised "facsimile" of that same music. For reproducing rock music, I have never heard anything that even comes close to Klipsch. I think a lot of people are just used to listening to cruddy TV & radio speakers all their lives and have forgotten (or never knew in the first place) what real (live) music sounds like. Their speakers may sound "warmer" and all that nonsense, but they do not sound like live music. With Klipsch I can "feel" the music, to the extent that they make my eyes vibrate to the point that I literally can't see straight. In any case, this is precisely what I want in a speaker. ------------------ 32" Hi-scan Sony WEGA Amp: Yamaha DSPA1 Mains: '99 K-horns Center: KLF-C7 & JBL S- Center Front Effects: KSP-S6s Rear Surrounds: KLF-30s Sub: KSW-15 DVD: Pioneer DV-114 MD: Sony Mini-Disc Recorder (Walkman) VCR: JVC S-VHS
