USNRET
I bought this (Basis 2001 with Graham arm) a while back and was wondering if I had an issue with clearance on one of the isolation pods. I thought (I shouldn't do that) perhaps I was 'low' on silicone damping fluid in an isolator so I send an email off to Basis with the question. Mr Conti replied ON A SUNDAY almost immediately that my issue was with the fluid but I had a non-factory o-ring / gasket on a screw. Hey, I just used what was sent with the table. Anyway, I appreciate the fact that the founder of Basis not only replied but did so on a weekend. Two thumbs up in Z formation! From Mr Conti: First off, fluid level has nothing to do with how the corner sits. No fluid, or too much fluid, the corner sits the same, totally dictated by the spring. Second, where did that big washer or bumper come from? That's not Basis, and that's what is causing your clearance problems. Take the screw and rubber or plastic part off. My best, A.J. USNRET
and then Mr Conti suggests that I might like to upgrade to this arm; why not it's only $4700-$5500

Moderators Travis In Austin Posted January 26, 2015 Moderators Share Posted January 26, 2015 (edited) That Vector tonearm is awesome. I'm running that as are Gary and Larry in MD. I don't have the VTA adjustment on mine, it can be upgraded by AJ but I just havent seen the need to do it.You should really be liking that rig now? I think AJ is an engineering and design genius, and certainly is no-compromise in the quality of his precision design, materials, etc.. It shows up in the sound IMO.
