Bonzo
I just received my Carver M500t amp from Hi-Tech Audio in Gresham, OR. They are an authorized Carver Service Center. Rolland and his crew have a reputation for doing great work. The standard chassis refresh was done which replaced 100% of the electrolytic caps. They performed current updates to the power supply, calibrated to factory specs. I also had them install low noise op-amps and Polypropylene bypass caps. The speaker terminals were upgraded to accept banana plugs. He also stripped and re-finished the top cover at no charge, looks like new! The face plate and plexiglass are very nice as well. The total cost with return shipping was $492.00. I have included a photo of the invoice. It comes with a one year parts and labor warranty. Just let me know if there is an issue and we will send it back to them on my dime. It sounds great as you would expect. Warm, punchy with loads of detail and that "tube like" sound. It's rated at 250 watts per channel into 8 ohms. Here's the story. In between sending the amp to Rolland and now, I made a trade/cash deal for two DIY Single Ended tube mono-blocks. It's a crazy hobby! Consequently and sadly, I will be amp poor and the Carver will have to go. I am asking $550 for it plus shipping via FedEx ground. It will be packed well and double boxed. Thanks!
