eth2
I just bought an Ortofon DS-3. When I power it on I get all *'888888" ew seconds then I get a message that says "FULL." I have tried to recalibrate, it goes to "0" for a second and then to "FULL." Anyone understand this? Edited March 23, 2015 by eth2

eth2
You must have gotten the BS meter by mistake. As always, I can count on Carl for clear, succinct advice. Anyone else?
CECAA850
It doesn't mention that word anywhere in the owners manual. I'd say bad unit.

CECAA850
Actually, every time I try to find a DS-3 manual it takes me to a DS-1 manual.
CECAA850
Carl, do you have one? Nope, just trying to help. I found the DS-1 manual on the Ortofon site.
eth2
The DS-3 manual says nothing about "FULL." I think it is supposed to show "0" when turned on instead of "88888"
CECAA850
Actually, the DS-3 and DS-1 manuals look the same.

eth2
Yes it is only sold in Japan by dealers. However, it is different than the DS-1. I got this one on the Forum.

babadono
Ds-1 manual says after a few seconds '8888' reading should go to '0.0'. This does not happen? You get 'FULL' with no pressure applied? Silly question did you try new fresh batteries?
eth2
Yes, tried new batteries. It starts with "88888" and then goes to "FULL" It never releases from "FULL" The manual say sif the batteries are down it will read "lo"
