A1UC
It doesn't mention that word anywhere in the owners manual. I'd say bad unit. I never had a problem with it till earl broke it

babadono
Something has been lost in translation from Japanese to English in the document on their website. Like that has never happened Sounds like you need to hash this out with the seller.

LarryC
I just bought an Ortofon DS-3. When I power it on I get all *'888888" ew seconds then I get a message that says "FULL." I have tried to recalibrate, it goes to "0" for a second and then to "FULL." Anyone understand this? I bought my gauge, a DS-1, from Audiolab through Amazon.com. It has worked perfectly as described -- I inserted the batteries and it soon read out "0.0g." I could then place the stylus tip in the center of the tongue-shaped plate, and the tracking weight quickly reads out to the nearest 0.1 g., without fuss or uncertainty. It has never read "FULL." The DS-1 instructions say to insert the batteries, place the scale on the platter, and press the red button. "The scale will display '8888' on the screen. After 3 to 6 seconds, it will be [sic] read '0.0g.' which means the scale is in [weighing] state. Then put stylus in center of tongue." It will display the pressure value. It says the scale cannot be turned off until it shows 0.0g, and not to pull it out of the case by the tongue. EDIT: FWIW, I got the DS-1, which has the tongue-shaped platform, unlike the platform on the side that your pic shows for the DS-3. sanjiv sud
I have the same issue with a new DS -3 that I bought. Its reads FULL after it is switched on. Says 0 (not 0.00) when switched on for a second and says Full thereafter. Any solution ? Thanks
