Soundthought
Hello all, I have to put a couple pairs of floorstanders into storage for a while. I don't have original boxes and the storage unit is not climate controlled. I'm concerned about damage from moisture. What can I do? Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks, John. ------------------ You should of heard just what I've seen.
jtkinney
What are they? If they are something I would enjoy, you could ship them out here to Arizona for storage. There is not much moisture here! Oh well, I had to try. Wrap them in brown paper, then shrink wrap along with some desicant inside might do the trick. ------------------ Jim Family Room: 1979 La Scalas (mains), SF-2 Center (pair), RS-3 Surrounds, RC-3 Rear Center, KSW-10 Subs (pair) Yamaha RX-V1 Reciever, Yamaha CDC-655 CD Player, Toshiba SD-1200 DVD, Toshiba TN50X81 50" HDTV Living Room: Yamaha RX-V590, 1978 Klipschorns Mainsc>s>
NewbieEars
I would try to wrap them air tight in some sort of plastic. And then put some of those silicon beads in there. You know, those little plastic beads that come in the box when you buy shoes. ------------------ This Rox!!!
Soundthought
Thanks guys, I can't seem to find anywhere around here to buy those little dessicant packs. Well, school is coming up and the kids are needing shoes. Although, I don't think a few of them is gonna be enough. Maybe, I can scam some extra packets from the shoestore. I can see it now. Getting busted for stealing dessicant packs from shoe boxes. LOL. "But your honor, it was in the name of audio."

Soundthought
Ah ha. Very cool. Thank you. They've got exactly what I need. Doug, do you have any thoughts on packaging a speaker for storage?
dougdrake
I'm with jtkinney. Send 'em to Phoenix where it never rains No, I'm afraid I don't have any ideas on that. All my speakers are in use or just in a closet in the house... Doug ------------------ My System
