Grundig speakers.

My buddy bought a pair of these things.

Haven't seen anything on the internet regarding them.

They seem to be a two or three way bass reflex design, I think.

(I had seen them about 2 weeks ago.)

I couldn't tell ya what finish the things were in, there was kind of a orangish color to the wood veneer.

Fancy fronts with cloth inset's, I think.

With the Grundig clover logo.

The cabs sit on 4 round legs, kind of like the legs used for chairs and other types of furniture. They have a goofy plug in the back, but he has the cables for them.

The folks he bought them from, bought them in around 1960, and they still look shiny and new.

I would gather that the drivers are nuthin' special, but they look cool for the vintage thing.

The old guy had them going when my buddy rolled up to look at them, so they work well.

These Grundig's might make good extension speakers for his old early/mid sixties Zenith console.

They came with this Fisher SS integrated AM/FM turntable sort of thing, I geuss I get to play with that.

Antique 2 channel.

THANX!

Mike-

At the flea market yesterday, I checked out a Grundig Majestic mono console. Peering through the ventilation holes in the back, I was able to see two tweeter/mids marked "Grundig" (surprise!), and a down-firing JBL woofer, I believe a number 127, or 147 (I didn't have time to make too many mental notes: My 13-year-old daughter was practically pulling me away, saying things like, "Don't get it, Dad! Mom would kill you! Daaad?!?" I did notice an EL34 listed in the tube chart. Probably a Telefunken, eh?).

Next time, I go alone!

Yeah, I saw a old Zenith Radio/TT console last weekend from around the late 40's early 50's?

The console was in great shape.

I was looking at the back of it, and they asked if I wanted to turn it on and see if it worked.

I was like, 'Uh,I dunno about that.'

Who knows when it was fired up last.

So I plugged it in and turned it on.

It started poppin' and snappin', it was either a cap or the rectifying tube, the output tubes seemed to come up okay.

I pulled the plug after that, Oh well.

They wanted too much for it anyway, though it was a nice piece of furniture.

Hittin' those Estate/Garage/Yard sales, never know what turns up.
