Femtochemistry
hi, i just want to know if this set-up is OK. RF-5 RB-5 RC-3 KSW-15 My problem is if the RB-5 will out-power the front RF-5 and RC-3. What do you guys think? Do you think i should go with the RB-3 instead? And will my Denon 3802 have enough juice to power all this? THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!
JasN00b
i doubt RB-5s could outpower a RF-5... looks fine to me but you might be better off with a diff sub. and that reciever will be fine ------------------ --------------------- I. Femtochemistry
really? whats wrong with the sub? thx
Vladi
I tried the KSW-12 subwoofer, and I couldn't stand it - very boomy and slow. Unless you will be using it only for movies, I think you will be better off with a RSW. I personally chose the RSW-10, it is enough for my room. In another post you asked about Denon 3802 and Sony DA3ES. I compared the 3802 against both Sony DA3ES and DA5ES. I decided to keep the DA5ES, DA3ES lacked features. While the 3802 was very good, the human interface did not appeal to me, but people say the Denon is a better match to Klipsch speakers ... Just my experience ... Femtochemistry
kool, thanks! Don't you think that the KSW-15 is more powerful than the RSW-10? Does power matter here or is that the quality? thx
avman
ACCURACY-the rsw sub lineup is tight, powerful, and accurate. it's about the QUALITY and quantity of bass. ksw-15-not bad, just 'slower and boomier'. rsw-12-probably best value in a klipsch sub i got the rsw-15 'cause that's what i needed to keep up w/the rest of my system. avman. ------------------ 1-pair klf 30's c-7 center (looking for 1-m.o.klf-20) ksps-6 surrounds RSW-15 sony strda-777ES receiver upgraded to v.2.02 including virtual matrix 6.1 sony playstation 2 sony dvpnc 650-v 5-disc dvd/cd/SACD changer dishnetwork model 6000 HD sat rcvr w/digital off-air tuner jvc s-vhs-et hi-fi stereo vcr sony kv36xbr450 high-definition 4:3 tv sharp xv-z1u lcd projector w/84" 4:3 sharp screen Bello'international Italian-made a/v furniture panamax max dbs+5 surge protector/power conditioner monster cable and nxg interconnects/12 gua.speaker wire Natuzzi red leather furniture set KLIPSCH-So Good It Hz! Femtochemistry
Will the RSW-10 have enough power to keep up, ie you can fell the sound? Will it really be worth spending 200-300 more? thx

matthew2
The KSW15 is not a very good sub IMO. Did you try other subs in your price range? A much better sub for a good price would be a Paradigm PW2200. Mabey SVS? ------------------ Matthew Klipsch Rocks
boa12
besides, to begin w/, even the rsw-10 has a higher power amp than the ksw-15. i'd take advice though & get the rsw-12 over the 10. seems to be much better overall performance for the added cost. & don't rule out the perfermance value on other company subs like those at www.svsubwoofers.com , paradigm & velodyne. ------------------ My Home Systems Page

avman
nice tv choice, good system, THE REMOTE CAN REALLY DO SOME COOL STUFF!! be sure to program macros into the remote's device buttons for example:when you want to watch a dvd play, press and hold the 'dvd' button.(after you set-up the steps in that macro. avman. TheEAR
As I said before the KSW15 is NOT a good choice. WHY? Simple,a few weak points... A)Boomy nature(soso cabinet construction and porting) B)No snap the best subs have(lacks speed) C)Output down low is...poor(no true abyss sub bass) BTW I have both the RSW10,KSW12 and 15 so I can say a few things here.I heard the RSW12 and 15 too,ha not just heard...long test at the store. Now the good... RSW10,12 and 15 subs are... A)Very clean,no boomy bass(sturdy cabinet,no ports...passive radiator) B)Has serious snap(fast subs, follow the mains and dont lag like lesser subs) C)While output at 16Hz(LOL) is not its forte, these have good output and are comnpetent down to 25Hz. Remember subs are not only specs,as specs dont tell half the story. And last but not least SVS and Sunfire(oh yes no escape) Sunfire Signature(siply put clean sub bass, true GIANT output from a sub smaller then the RSW10 and DEEP DEEP sub bass with POWER,did I say POWER?)Oh and not a trace of boomyness, tiny rock solid cabinet with a massive super duty driver and massive passive radiator. SVS Ultra(most output down low from a sub $2000 sub,no colorations thanks to the tube cabinet, well optimised cabinet and porting.Just try a 16Hz test tone for size,BIG POWER)The only weak pount is these are BIG like in damn BIG.All else is GOOOD,plus if you are a technophile/audiophile/snootyphile like me you'like the gorgeous TC Sounds driver(s)!Super duty stuff Just stay away from the KSW15,considering the quality sourrounding components you need a quality subwoofer. I know I dont regret all the subs I have. When a pipe organ is reproduced the house shakes like a leaf. And I like it this way,the only way.
