tripod
I just got back from a week-long vacation and thought I'd check out uBid. They're nuts! In an effort to top their previous track record of crap customer service and inflated s/h charges, they have updated their format. KSB1.1's are now going for a starting price of $78/pair plus $20 s/h. Or, you can act now and guarantee a successful bid by paying the low, low price of $158/pair plus $20 s/h!!!!!!!!! If you order now they'll even include a free cardboard box for shipping! What a shocker that 20 out of 20 speakers are still available. Klipsch, PLEASE find a new authorized online retailer! tripod
Oh My God They've now dropped their shipping charge from $20 to only 1 cent!! Problem is, they increased the starting bid by $27.42 per pair. That's right, act now and you can pay $7.42 more than the last time they increased their price. WTF? Malcolm
Its called salemanship. I knew a guy who ran a crafts store. He was always experimenting with new pricing schemes to get his customers to come in and buy. Fact is that the lowest overall price isn't always the one that results in most volume. It is a matter of perception on the buyer's part. And not all folks' perception is necessarily in sync with actual fact.
kenratboy
Well, I am well-trained and do not fall for any salesmanship. I am proud to say I have never had anything over $5 (food - TV commercials) "sold" to me. I call the shots. ------------------ Receiver: Sony STR-DE675 CD player: Sony CDP-CX300 Turntable: Technics SL-J3 with Audio-Technica TR485U Speakers: JBL HLS-610 Subwoofer: JBL 4648A-8 Sub amp: Parts Express 180 watt Center/surrounds: Teac 3-way bookshelfs Yes, it sucks, but better to come.
