Mike MacInnis
Tonight I stumbled across a Promedia 2.1 subwoofer without its satellite speakers. Can I do anything with this stand alone sub or should I return it to the dumpster?
DizRotus
Dumpster. I have 2 working Promedia 2.1 systems I enjoy daily at my computers. That said, I would not look twice at a satellite-less subwoofer. The amp is probably dead. It's not worth the space. On the other hand, the hoarder in me says you never know when you might need it for parts. Don't listen to the hoarder, get rid of it. dtr20
If it works, and that's a big IF, then you could buy the satellites and the controller on eBay fairly cheap to have an entire system.
Mike MacInnis
Thank you for your input. It appears the complete system retails in Dallas for just north of $100.00 I'd love to get a pig tail style cable of the preamp connector with wiring diagram. Otherwise, I will hack into it while watching MacGyver episodes on my VCR to determine if it's worthy of consuming precious and valuable space in my apartment. Plan B is to take it to my local car wash and unload it on some sucker looking for some additional bass for his stereo which far exceeds the car it's in.
