The History Kid
So, now we have determined that it's somewhere in the specific line running to the turntable, or the mixer. Try just connecting the mixer and then see if there's any feedback, then try connecting another source to the mixer and see if there's feedback then. Noggin
Ok, if I remove the line between mixer and speaker, then reconnect, I get humming noise when reconnecting. If I remove and reconnect the cables from TT to mixer, nothing.
The History Kid
Try running just the turntable to the speaker, and see if you get any humming then. It sounds like the mixer may be your problem.
Noggin
Both mixer to speaker and TT to speaker give feedback but only while connecting the lines. When connected there is nothing from both sources. Hope that makes sense.
The History Kid
And you tried switching both the turntable and the speaker between phono and line, right?
Noggin
I think I´ve tried every possible alternative.
The History Kid
Last thing to try short of exchanging them for another pair would be different cables. Do you have extra ones you could use and try?
pbphoto
If you are using a MAC and connect via USB, make sure you 1) select the USB input on the speakers (whitish light) and 2) you select the Klipsch USB as the output device in your sound settings. The History Kid
He's using a turntable. Nothing to do with USB audio to the Klipsch setup itself. As far as what I've seen, there's no computer in this equation at all, actually.
pbphoto
Understood - we want to see if the speakers are working at all with any input and remove the TT's and mixing board from the equation. (referring to a few posts back when he connected his laptop via USB and got nothing.)
Noggin
Ok, we have some progress. I hand´t set the sound on the Mac to the speakers. Now I have audio from the Mac but with a horrible buzzing in the background
Noggin
The buzzing is only coming from the base speaker.
Noggin
But I don´t intend to use a computer.
The History Kid
The speakers sound defective. I would exchange them for another pair.
Noggin
Ok, many thanks for your help. I have written to the retailer.
pbphoto
Agreed - faulty. I had to return my first pair due to a funky SPL imbalance between the two speakers. My second pair has been solid.
T2K
I've been considering buying a pair of these speakers to use with a turntable. I think I'll forget about that now. Thanks for starting this thread Noggin and welcome. Keith

Poissonier
Hey, try turning up the source volume knob up that is on back of main speaker and keep your speaker wire away from power cords and outlets.
