wally
Front Projection SharpVision XV-Z9000U is being installed. I need some advice on speaker type and placement ( Obviously I love Klipsch) and any thoughts on building an Advent audio system would be helpful. justin_tx_16
Can we have a picture? this sounds like a neat room. not sure how this effects the sound though. better or worse... how about a picture? ------------------ -justin SoundWise promediatech@Klipsch.com /1-888-554-5665 - RA# 800-554-7724 ext 5s> Email Me
boa12
welcome wally. how about 5-7 klipschhorns or lascala if the corners aren't sharp enough. then you could use dual SVS ultra subs w/ outboard amp. or 4 Velodyne HGS-18 subs. oh, or do you have a budget? advent? you mean the brand or the type? ------------------ My Home Systems Page

Mighty Favog
Yea, this may be kinda like speed. Speed is a matter of money. How fast do you want to go? Some rediculous system's can go $300,000 or more... ------------------ Tom's Money Pit
boa12
wally, lol. i'm more of a george dickel guy myself. the aragon stage one looks good, but i haven't heard one yet. along w/ their 7-channel amp would probably be nice. i have b&k seperates myself (see my link below). nice value seperates w/ klipsch imho. here's a link to the stage one owner's manual: http://members.aol.com/cobramr/stageone_man.pdf ------------------ My Home Systems Page
DillonW
Q-Man & HornEd may want to borrow your room in their quest for an all-Khorn system!
wally
I'm looking at 30K to 50K for the A/V. If you wanted to really kicks some *** what would you use for your audio. As I stated I'm already going with the sharpvision front projection.
NOZ
I'm with Boa on this one, eight La Scalas, one on each wall and one listening,(viewing) chair in the middle. I would have said eight Khorns but they won't match your 45 degree corners.. wally
I own two LaScalas, but I don't know if I want 6 (plus a center) taking up that space. I would sound sweet though. (hmmm)
wally
What about seven in-wall refs, and 2 15" ref subs ??? Any thoughts??
justin_tx_16
Only 500 square feet? what is the diameter of the room, hard to get a visual of that room without a picture or something. what are the ceilings at? ------------------ -justin SoundWise promediatech@Klipsch.com /1-888-554-5665 - RA# 800-554-7724 ext 5s> Email Me
boa12
wally, wasn't sure on the corner angles & klipschhorns, but wasn't joking on the lascala or belle (better looking) X 6 or 7. you love klipsch & have the budget so there you go. as for subs, there are a lot of bass quality/quantity trade-offs when you get up there. velodyne just sent to a series II so the previous HGS-18 can now probably be easily had for less than $2k each. that's my choice for great quality bass w/ huge impact. but of course www.svsubwoofers.com are the best value for huge output w/ real good quality too. especially w/ high output klipsch speaks. will this be srtictly HT or also for 2-channel music. or what's your listening breakdown? as for b&k, they're a great value. but w/ your budget you can do better. ------------------ My Home Systems Page

wally
Take a 25 x 25 room and cut the corners at 45' and there you have it.
DillonW
You want some serious subs; no way La Scalas can handle low frequencies, and don't forget your LFE. Pack those La Scalas or Belles at every position you can. You will get incredible sound. No substitute for the big heritage speakers. Or you could put properly angled false corners in your existing corners at the positions where you would like to use Khorns.... Just a thought. ------------------ Thanks, Bill Primary HTS Mains: Black La Scalas Rears: Belles (Until La Scalas are refinished) Center: La Scala (Until Belle is refinished) Rear Center: Recycle KLF C7 Front Effects: None Yet Sub: Velodyne CT-150 Extra: Black Chorus IIs Receiver: Yamaha RXV3000 TV: HD Toshiba 61" 61H70 DVD: Sony DVP-S560D
NOZ
I've got a great idea, eight belle's or La Scalas, and four sets of Dual SVS Ultras, one Las or Belle on every flat wall and one SVS in every corner. That would not only sound great, it would surely move yours, and every who experienced it, world. ------------------ NOZ SYSTEM DUAL USAGE ROOM Fronts & Mains: Klipsch La Scalas Center: Klipsch RC-7 Rears: Klipsch RS-7's Projector: Infocus LP350 Screen: Draper Premier 96" x 72" TV: Toshiba 37" DVD: Toshiba SD-3805 Receiver: Harman Kardon AVR 7000 CD: Sony CDP CX250 EQ: Harmon Kardon EQ-8 Sub: Dual SVS Ultras w/ Samson 1000 watt amp http://www.geocities.com/seanshometheatre/
