RP-280F Owners Thread

So there's an RF7-II owners thread, why not a thread for the flagship 280F Reference Premiers? I've had mine for a month paired with a Marantz SR-7010 and they sound amazing running 2 channel for music and movies. The bass is insane!  These are an excellent value for the cost of these speakers and they look high quality in my living room (even if they are only wood veneer). I saved over $1,000 by not going with the RF-7's and for my needs in my space, they excel.

Other happy owners chime in on the 280's, impressive sound quality, enhancements over the previous reference series RF82-II's, and whether or not you do not miss jumping up to the big brother RF7-II (if you aren't blasting past the sound barrier in a 5,000 sq ft room)

I've had mine for only a couple of days and so far I'm loving it. It is mated to a Marantz nr1403. Room environment plays a huge role in how it sounds. I first had them setup in my living room for initial testing and listening and it was nice, well balanced & smooth sound. Not much bass though. I then moved them into my bedroom, which it replaces a pair of Fortes and it was extremely bright. Still no bass, but it was overwhelmingly bright. Audyssey has tamed a lot of the brightness and harshness. This brightness was also present with the Fortes before Audyssey. Brighter and "thinner" than the rp-280f's.
