HiFi Heaven
All I need is one K-1029-KN 8" woofer for a lame CF-2, willing to consider a KV-4 in any condition with one working 8" woofer. I don't need the cabinet, as this will become a donor parts kit for my ailing Epic CF-2's. Anybody with other ideas? CA$H or PayPal or USPMO is fine. I have discounted FedEx shipping account, will cover packing & shipping costs.
opusk2k9
I think the KV-4 uses a different woofer the K-1035-KN, the KLF-C7 uses a K-1062-KV and are easier to find. Here are some CF-2: https://appleton.craigslist.org/ele/d/klipsch-epic-cf-2-speakers/6636017709.html
HiFi Heaven
My blown woofer is a K-1029-KN, p/n 120819 with a June 1 1995 date on the tag. Purchased from original owner. Open circuit, but no rubbing or scraping at all.
mimalmo
If there's no rubbing or scraping, I'm wondering if one of the leads just came loose and needs a spot of solder.
HiFi Heaven
I was wondering the same thing! Terminal to tinsel is OK, maybe you're right! Hmmm... I could Xacto-knife enough of the poly dustcap off to get my Weller 8200 and some 60/40 onto the tinsel/VC solder blob! Nothing to lose! Replacement K-1062-EV is $102.04 per Zach today! Thank you sir!
HiFi Heaven
Anybody with one OEM 8" Neo/Poly woofer from a CF-2 or KV-4? K-1029-KN, K-1062-EV, K-1035-KN might be acceptable too. I have a nice oak pair of CF-2's with one open woofer. Price + shipping to Minneapolis 55424? Thanks guys!
