What speakers?  Got a pic?

3 Yamaha speakers [(1)center and (2)satellites] wired in series as front channel. The 2 Yamaha slim towers are the fronts, and then the 2 speakers stacked on top of them I have wired in series and are the rear channel. All of these are 6 ohm HT speakers. There's is a Klipsch RW 10 sub and a Velodyne HGS-18 sub. Depending on what I'm watching, I may run in 5-ch stereo or one of the surround decoding programs with one or both subs on. AVR is a Yamaha RX-V473.847a6d70e9ba91dfeb7e1fb1e6a3c784.jpg

I ran dual KG 2.2's as a center for awhile called it my "poor-man's RC-64" worked great and was an improvement to my ears over just using a single speaker. Personally I would run the speakers in parallel and just keep an eye on the Receiver how much heat it puts out especially at sustained high levels but modern Receivers have near bullet-proof protection circuitry that should kick in long before any damage is done to any equipment so I wouldn't worry too much about it, assuming of course that you are running a newer AVR.

My receiver is a Pioneer Elite SC-LX501 that's a couple years old.  It specifies to use speakers that range between 4 and 16 ohms.

Currently living in an apartment so not turning things up anywhere near as loud as I did when we had our house.
