rjb294
I am pretty new to this forum, and I have been reading a lot about these SVS subs. How do they stack up against Velodyne?
boa12
they both have various models, velo many more varieties for dif tastes & budgets. in a nutshell apples to apples, svs are louder at pretty much every freq point (svs ultra & velo hgs-18 both extend flat below 15hz). the only way to really know which to get is try 'em at your place. svs has that return policy & most dealers should have a demo or return policy on velo. TheEAR
How do they stack up? If HT is your main reason to get a subwoofer get SVS If music is the key factor get a Velodyne HGS SVS is a better choice if you consider the performance for the dollar.Velodyne are stylish glossy cubes,SVS are like small water heaters. Orange Peel
Aren't the SVS just gorgeous? I actually like the cylinder better, it takes up less room that those bulky cubes anyways. Stick it in a corner and you're done
prodj101
small footpring size doesn't equate to a small subwoofer. thats like saying a 8 inch wide box sub streatching 10 feet in length would be small.
