Terminus
can it be used in the same manner as the DD-5.1? If not why? thanks
GooseChaser
did u read my post for ur "anyone willing to sell me a DD5.1?"?nope, but as far as the hardware goes Audigy 2 platinum and audigy one platinum is fully capable of decoding dolby digital so u can connect ur DVD player and ur favorite gaming console through coxial or optical. there is that windows XP/2000 driver update for audigy one platinum that allows SPIDF in decode. that driver can be used for Windows ME users but they will run into several problems with CD ROMS and EAX advanced HD feature as I did. I have since upgraded to Windows XP professional but now EAX advanced HD feature freezes while I am playing Jedi outcast... u could wait a year for a driver update from creative labs... yeah right. did u already get audigy 2... ouch... I don't think i'll buy another creative product until they do something about their software department. I thought u have audigy one from other posts but maybe I was mistaken. GooseChaser
today I installed the leaked audigy 2 driver and software suite on my audigy platium it turned out to be a disaster anyway I found that SPDIF in decode feature is built into the initial audigy 2 driver. still can't decode DTS though.
