bullsprig
I need another set of speakers smaller than my La scalas and can pick up some kg4's at a seemingly low price. Should I buy or pay more for Heresy? The truth is kg2's might be more the size I am looking for so I might end up with all 3. Plus I am waiting for the right set of horns but who isn't!!!I wish I was starting my house now. I didn't plan for ht and the waf is causing problems. If I had it to do over I would have planned for a music room rather than "sun room"!!!! Guess who wanted sun room. However I love my La scalas even though my garage is my HT. I have considered posting my HT for a laugh but spend more time listening than photographing!!!! Flason
Go for the Herseys. I have a set of the 3 you are talking about (LaScala, Hersey, KG4) and the Hersey will both match the timbre as well as the load (8 ohm vice 4) of the Scala's. Don't get me wrong, the KG's a great sounding speakers and will stand the test of time, but the Hersey will match a lot closer and not make your amp struggle with 2 different loads. bkrop
I would agree, I have loved my KG-4's since they came out but when I had to get a new recieverand decided to go HT I had a heck of a time finding one that could handle different resistance loads. My Yamaha RXV-800 can handle 6 or 4 ohms upfront with 8 ohms in the rear. If your amp is similar, you would have to use your "big dogs" for rear surround. Even though the KG-4's go down to 38hz,you probably wouldn't want them up front. bkrop Yamaha RXV-800 Yamaha YST-sw205 sub Klipsch KG-4 front Klipsch RC3-II center Klipsch KG-3 rear
