I would only bid on a big ticket item if it was close enough for pick up. Drove to Houston to get my La scalas from near memphis. Took a while to find a set because it seemed like most were in Ca or NY and too far to drive on a weekend. Small items I have been lucky with usps money order.

83 models picked 'em up last year. They are perfect but still have al3's. Started with a buddies Speakerlab "K's" about 20 years ago.Want real ones now but didn't have room til I built a new house. Then I built a 26x28 room that was to be a garage but is now a studio. Still need another garage!!!

gary-- today is first day to hook 'em up together.thinking about using them in a ht set=up with some horns or heresy's and a sub. Maybe an outlaw or other budget receiver.

yep they are 4 ohms -Las are 8ohms. By the way I have read of you system several times while lurking and it makes me very envious of all those 'horns and tubes but my time is coming.

sorry for not being clear but when I turn it back on it works again on either a or b.A+b shuts it back off til I turn it off again. A+B shuts it down til I "reboot".

I have a puny(for the time being) system consisting of a pair of La Scalas,a pair of kg2's and an old Realistic 18 watt ss receiver. It has worked adequately for my tin ear but today I hooked the kg2's up as "B" with My La's as "A" and when I turned it on my system played about 5 seconds and muted. If I switch to either Aor B it remains muted until I turn it off and turn it back on. If I turn on either A or b it is fine. I am obviously not as knowledgable as most others on the board .Your help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Just picked up a pair of kg 2's.Don't know why but e-bay does that to me. Anyone have 'em?How are they for what they are?I will find some place for them. The waf has relegated my La Scala's to my new garage. At least it was to be a garage but has turned into a combo studio-music room.Need a set of 'horns for the only two real corners on the spread. I will keep on e-baying.And lurking in the shadows.

the ebay ad clearly says "speakers" which I believe is plural and means more than 1. An auction for 1 only would of course say "speaker". A fraud has been committed.

I need another set of speakers smaller than my La scalas and can pick up some kg4's at a seemingly low price. Should I buy or pay more for Heresy? The truth is kg2's might be more the size I am looking for so I might end up with all 3. Plus I am waiting for the right set of horns but who isn't!!!I wish I was starting my house now. I didn't plan for ht and the waf is causing problems.If I had it to do over I would have planned for a music room rather than "sun room"!!!! Guess who wanted sun room. However I love my La scalas even though my garage is my HT. I have considered posting my HT for a laugh but spend more time listening than photographing!!!!

I know I will get slammed for such an easy query but here goes!! I just got some La Scalas. Now I need a receiver. I know I need a SET tube rig but can't afford one now. My question is Although I have always had 2 channel stuff could I get a HT set up and just use the mains til I get some more speakers(Probably Khorns and move the La Scalas to rear or some Heresys(like 4 more). Will playing through the mains of say a denon3802 or an outlaw 1050 work? ------------------ If it's in stock we got it!!

Well, I've finally done it! I am a junior member of the Klipsch family! I am going to pick up my la scalas Saturday evening. I don't know if they are a very good vintage but they are 85's. My fear is that they have a mid horn of fiberglass and may not be as desirable as the metal horns. What year did the metal horns drop? Is the metal better? Can't wait.Maybe I can talk them out of the khorns instead!!!! ------------------ If it's in stock we got it!!

Just as I feared. I drove 600 miles and saw a pitiful pair of speakers. They looked exactly like what you would expect to find in the animal house frat house. Worse they were missing the mid-range drivers. By the time I had them fixed I could have a nicer set. I hate to think of paying for these and seeing them when UPS unloaded them. It would make a grown man cry. The college kids said " We didn't know anything was missing. We have played them like that for a couple of years." They had another set of speakers on top hooked up too. So I am still hunting. ------------------ If it's in stock we got it!!

the 675 is what scares me!!!! also WAF is critical here because we just got a new house and she doesn't want me to start "junking the place up"! Going to pick up a pair of la scalas tomorrow. What should I look for. I mean is there a model to stay away from? I think the cast mid-range horn is preferred. These are black(not what I want but will do til I find some horns- then they will make nice rear speakers). Should I worry too much about scratches? I think I could refinish them easily enough. I could be wrong though!!! How about crossovers? What to look for-what to avoid. At $675 should I be too picky? Thank you. ------------------ If it's in stock we got it!!
