jazman
Because there has been some discussion of TT's and cartridge setup, I grabbed this from a post in the Vinyl Asylum by Harry, the owner of VPI. Of course, most of us do not own scopes. http://db.audioasylum.com/cgi/m.pl?forum=vinyl&n=163367&highlight=scout+hw&session= (I've got to work on posting links here) Klipsch out. mobile homeless
Interesting. Of course, as you said, 99% of us dont have scopes. Did you get the links I pasted in here of the various steps to align the cartridge? Most are in the FAX section of the Asylum but you should copy that post regardless. All of those are worth saving as files. GREAT INFO. kh
Mike Lindsey
Just yesterday I was messing around with the HFN&RR record and noticed that my azimuth is off (Side 2/Track 5). I never noticed it before, but with the Scott I can set to Mono, and both channels are supposed to cancel one another out. Does that mean dead quiet? Mine is not dead quiet but is very quiet nonetheless. I also noticed that my Tracking Force/Anti Skate was off by playing tracks 6, 7 and 8 on Side 1. I could play track 6 just fine but not the others. I increased my TF/AS from 1.5 to 1.75 and they played flawlessly. Of course, Track 9 was totally out of the question... No Disc
heh, That's great info. You gotta love a guy who brings his laptop with him on vacation and whilst fishing to respond to AA posts. I think that guy might just be more addicted to this stuff than MH. Makes you wonder.. - tb
