aab3rd
I can buy a pair of Forte II for about $400 from someone in my hometown (Bolivar, TN - near Memphis). Also, I just saw a pair of Cornwalls in Memphis for sale on eBay. I am going to try to go see these saturday. Can any of you heritage people give me some input on the Forte IIs vs the Cornwalls. The Cornwalls are from 1982. SNs 30X788/9. Also, how do they sound vs the KLF 20s I have now in your opinion?
Audio Flynn
Wish I could help never had an audition of either. Have a new acquaintance that regrets selling his Fortes several years ago and getting Martin Logans. For $ 400 I would just jump in. How much for the Cornwalls? aab3rd
Cornwalls are on eBay so they will probably go for $600 to 800.
Jobman
I have had both, and as much as I like the Forte's, I would have to go with the Cornwalls, as long as you have the room. (They are wider) The CW is just an overall better, fuller, richer speaker. You will not go wrong. (AS long as it is in good condition!) aab3rd
Thanks, room is not a problem.

WMcD
I really believe you can't go wrong either way. I have home made K-Horns and tinker with horns. And haven't heard CW in a long time. On the other hand, I listen to Forte II at the office every day and marvel at the bass, the mid, and treble. I don't doubt the glowing reviews of the CW, particularly the bass. Still, if you have a chance, pay some particular attention to the mid and treble in each. You may find the Forte II to be superior. Audio Flynn
"Listen to Forte II at work" Gil, Send me the adress of your employer, I will send a resume. I just get to listen to car stereos in Mexican taxis. I am jealous.
aab3rd
Well I decided to go with the Fortes. I picked them up today for $400. They are Walnut and not a scratch on them so I think I got a good deal. They are actually Forte Is built the 35th week of '88. Have not auditioned them yet or compared them to my KLF 20s. Also I am selling my walnut CF-1s on eBay pretty soon unless someone here wants them. No BS price is $450.
jhawk92
Austin- Congrats. That is a good deal on the Forte I, especially if they are mint. You will certainly enjoy them. And since you already have them at home, you can be listening to your investment rather than waiting for UPS to bring the CWs.
